I didn't end up hanging out with my fellow teacher very much. Why? He had flown in some Czech girl to spend time with. haha.
Anyways there happened to be another teacher from Prague at the conference but from a different school. The two people that were supposed to join her had to bail due to different circumstances. Perfect. I ended up staying in a little flat right off the main street in the old part of Barcelona. It was great. We had a little balcony that we ate our breakfast on in the 80 degree weather.
We saw a lot of things in Barcelona including the La Sagdara Familia. I think thats how you spell it. It was started in the early 1900's by an artist who was heavily influenced by nature, Gaudi. He died in 1926 while the temple was still being built. He was hit by a tram! Watch out!
Anyways progress on the massive temple has been slow. They are still working on it today! It will be amazing when it is finished in predicited 2030. It is amazing right now. It was really neat to see it being built. I have walked into many old churches and temples but to walk into one that is a work in progress was a different experience.
We also ran into another teacher from the conference at the temple. Randommm. He invited us over to his friends flat for homemade pallea. Rice, seafood, veggies, all thrown in together. Delicious. It was a lot of fun.
We also went out to dinner with my Latino co-worker and the Czech girl. We must of confused the heck out of the table next to us. We had a Czech girl who didn't know a lot of English, the Latino who was talking to us in English, chatting with the waiter in Spainish, and translating things in Czech. Then we had me, the one with the American accent and my friend with the British accent. Random sitting down to eat dinner with friends from 3 different countries that weren't from Spain and our common ground was Prague.
Its rainy here. Hope the weather is better wherever you are.
